I think everyone needs to take a page out of the Teyana Taylor book of maximalist dressing. Last night, she stunned on the Met Gala carpet in a silver fringe Tom Ford dress. “It looks like it’s melting as I move. I like to think of it as the ‘ghost of a body,’” she told Vogue. And underneath all that cascading chrome, Teyana also had a gorgeous, sultry glam look powered by drugstore makeup. Cosmo got all the exclusive details.

“The glam complemented her dress while still bringing Teyana’s unique edge,” says her makeup artist, Yeika Olivia. “Since the dress was the main focus, I wanted the eyes to be the high point. We went with Teyana’s favorite bold smokey double wing, which has become her signature, with a touch of sparkle to elevate it.” For the iconic liner moment, Yeika used Revlon’s Colorstay Waterproof Eyeliner.

Watercolor blush was one of the biggest emerging makeup trends from the night, with celebs’ cheeks doubling as fresh canvases. “For this look, we went for a lifted, ethereal blush to bring some flirt to Teyana’s skin,” says Yeika.

“We leaned into the vision by letting the dress take over the moment,” and Yeika describes Teyana’s look as “memorable, fierce, and impactful.” The 2026 Met Gala theme was “Costume Art,” with a focus on the “dressed body,” and Teyana’s melting silhouette definitely understood the assignment, accentuating the body with shape and movement.
